[vc_row full_width=”” parallax=”” parallax_image=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]James 1:1-11 reveals the path to joy in face of a labyrinth of trials.

In this week’s episode we look at the outline and the central proposition of the text (CPT) for James 1:1-11. I walk through the process of how I discovered the outline and how the pieces fit together to form the heart of the passage.[/vc_column_text][vc_separator color=”grey” align=”align_center” style=”” border_width=”” el_width=””][vc_single_image image=”285″ style=”vc_box_rounded” border_color=”grey” img_link_large=”” img_link_target=”_self” img_size=”medium”][vc_separator color=”grey” align=”align_center” style=”” border_width=”” el_width=””][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row full_width=”” parallax=”” parallax_image=””][vc_column width=”1/1″][vc_column_text]Here is a brief outline that is explained in more detail in the podcast.

Remember the Value of the Situation:

  • James 1:2-3

Choose to Endure:

  • James 1:4, “LET” (ESV “Let steadfastness have its full effect…”)
  • Endure to the end of the trial. THERE IS ALWAYS and end.

Pray for Wisdom:

  • James 1:5-8
  • :6–ask in faith
    • Compared to “double-minded man” in verse 8
    • “Double-souled” –trying to follow God and the world
    • How can a man like this possibly find the wisdom to endure temptation if he is not even sure he WANTS to endure it?

Rejoice in What is Right:

  • James 1:9-12
  • Exaltation and humiliation: different sides of the same coin.
  • Earthly riches will not last.
  • Earthly pleasures will only disappoint.
